Art, it’s all about coming together

Art. It plays a big part in the life of a city and its community by increasing peoples’ wellbeing and providing a sense of place for everyone. From funding and training opportunities, information on local grants and bursaries to FREE workshops – there really is something for everyone. This season enjoy a wealth of activities including ‘Twilight Nights by Fairy Light’ our enchanted Hallowe’en Festival at Wallace Park, Murder Mystery at the ILCM or our FREE film screenings and place art at the heart of your community.

Making Art in Communities (MAC) Funding

Making Art in Communities (MAC)

Up to £1500 is available for any one organisation in each financial year. Making Art in Communities Funding Programme (MAC) is to support constituted community groups/organisations based in the Council area to participate in, develop or promote the Arts. A ‘community–based arts project’ is where a professional artist works with a community to facilitate a creative process that enables participants to express their needs, aspirations, inspirations, identity or sense of place that results in a meaningful impact on their lives. MAC will provide funding in a range of artistic categories to raise community awareness about issues, including health promotion, environment and sustainability, urban renewal, rural revitalisation, cultural planning, community strengthening, social inclusion and cultural diversity.

Application deadline is: Fri 26 Jan 2018, 4pm (For projects taking place Apr 2018 – Mar 2019)
