BIOGRAPHY: (additional info)
Originally from the village of Pomeroy in Co Tyrone Northern Ireland. Andrea Begley hails from a rich, tradition of music and song that has shaped her into the artist she is today. Music has always been a part of Andrea’s life, from a very early age, Andrea began singing as part of her school and church choirs taking part in local singing and poetry competitions in the Feis. As a teenager she competed in the Fleadh (an all Ireland music competition which takes place annually and sees competitors from across Ireland and the rest of the world compete on traditional instruments and singing). Her aunt Philomena Begley known as Irelands “Queen of Country” was also a big influence on the younger Andrea, who could look up to her aunt as a shining example of women in the Irish music business.
After spending her early years in Pomeroy, Andrea moved to Belfast as a student to study law for three years, where soon after completing her degree, she participated a local song writing course. This sparked her interest in writing original songs and she soon began to play open mike and original music events where she crafted her song writing skills and built up performance experience. In 2012, one of Andrea’s original songs the Message made it to the final of the song writing TV show ‘the Hit’, after beating off stiff competition and being chosen by no less than star producer Steve Lillywhite to reach the final ten songs.
Soon after, one of the organizers of the open mike events she regularly played at, spotted Andrea’s talent and encouraged her to enter the Voice UK in 2013. In a matter of weeks, she found herself thrust into the spotlight, performing to the four legendary coaches and millions of people at home on BBC1 in the spring of 2013. She wowed celebrity coaches and audiences alike, with performances of emotive ballads like angel, songbird and my immortal. After beating thousands of other talented singers, Andrea was crowned as the ‘Voice UK’ winner in June 2013.
Later that year, she released her debut album ‘the Message’ to warm reception from fans who got the album to no 7 in the UK album charts. Andrea also began touring with sell out shows to audiences in Belfast and London in the iconic venues of the Ulster hall and Union chapel as well as in front of thousands of fans in Beijing.
Since 2013, Andrea has released a number of new successful singles, as well as run her own live shows, recently touring with her aunt Philomena across Northern Ireland.
In short, Andrea possesses an undeniably unique Voice. She has often been compared to singers like Eva Cassidy, Mary Black and Nora Jones. Her vocal strength lies in the purity of her tone. Her haunting, Celtic sound is unmistakeable and it is only when hearing Andrea live you can really appreciate why she is the undisputable “voice”.

Danny : “Andrea has the voice of an angel”

Tom Jones: “Andrea’s voice is beautiful, angelic and touches me right in the heart”. “Andreas voice is magical, enchanted”.
