The Studio Symphony Orchestra returns with a wide ranging programme of established classics. The orchestra will take us on a musical journey through a variety of styles, from the tranquil charm of Delius in The Walk to the Paradise Garden to the thrill and drama of Wagner’s music in The Flying Dutchman.
The Studio Symphony Orchestra’s principal horn player Jim Whatsize will perform Mozart’s rousing Horn Concerto No.1., and there will be the first performance of a captivating new work by local composer Jennifer Bell, featuring the clarinettist Gillian McCutcheon. The concert will conclude with the Suite from Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet Sleeping Beauty – certain to bring the evening to a stirring finale!
