Visual artist Emma Berkery has been based in Belfast since 2004. She holds a Master of Fine Art from the University of Ulster (2006) and has exhibited extensively throughout Ireland and the UK with a number of solo shows including ‘Goodbye to Summer’ The Market Place Gallery & Arts Centre, Armagh 2006; ‘Altering Fluid Perceptions’ The Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon, Co. Clare 2008 and ‘Overflow from the Tower’ with Limerick County Council 2010. Berkery’s creative practice explores colour and form through the process of painting.
This exhibition features works created during the last three years and includes some previously unseen new works. It incorporates a number of mixed media artworks which explore how her ongoing photographic research into the relationship between landscape and human emotion is translated into abstraction within the larger scale oil paintings.
Emma Berkery has been represented by the Nicholas Gallery in Belfast since 2004 and has completed a number of large commissions for Irish collectors.
