Island Arts Centre has proven to be a leading venue in Lisburn City for original art and fine crafts. We have originated the concept in the City of combining an art gallery with working artist studios, making the artistic process accessible to the customer. The arts centre provides affordable & flexible studio spaces for artists, arts organisations and arts and design related businesses.

Ngaire Jackson BA (Hons) MA & Clare Lawson BSc (Hons) BA (Hons) make up the partnership 'Red Apple Arts'

'Red Apple Arts' began specialising in site-specific public art works and have undertaken a significant level of arts work on behalf of Lisburn City Council. The company formally part of d3 Design is known best for its sculpture 'Concentric Twist' at Lagan Valley Island funded by the Sustrans Cycle Network.

Ngaire and Clare then branched out on their own extending their remit to include an extensive array of art & education workshops for children at Island Arts Centre and beyond. The duo have a wide experience of working with young people, schools and community groups and 'Arty Parties on the Island' are just one of their hugely successful adventures in this field. Recently Red Apple Arts beat strong competition to win the Rural Artwork Commission of Lisburn City Council's "Creating Space" Public Art Project for the city.
