LOOP the LOOP Festival offers something for all ages – tiny tots, kids and teenagers – plus events the whole family can enjoy together. ISLAND Arts Centre will be transformed BY children FOR children.

Festival Highlights

Here at the ISLAND we know every parent wants their child to have an enjoyable summer.  So get set for the LOOP the LOOP Arts Weeks (with optional Extended Hours). Children will work with ISLAND’s inventive artists to unlock their imaginations. It’s their opportunity to pick up heaps of brilliant skills, make some friends and have fun every day.

Unable to commit to full weeks? No problem we’ve the Loop the Loop Mini Festival events including workshops and film screenings with a difference, community outreach and much more.

Experience festival fun in 3D with The LOOP the LOOP interactive Children’s exhibition.  Fun–filled, hands–on, even adults will be entertained too. 

Festival Fringe at Bow Street Mall 

Shopping with the children in tow can be a bit of a challenge. ISLAND Arts Centre and our Festival Partner, Bow Street Mall, have joined forces to create the perfect solution.  Drop your children off at the ISLAND Pop Up Festival after arriving at the mall – and make a dash for your favourite stores and eateries, content in the knowledge your children are well looked after and enjoying themselves as much as you are.

We look forward to seeing you on the ISLAND and at Bow Street Mall. And remember, whichever festival activities you choose we recommend you dress for mess!

Mission Statement

"Lisburn City Council's Arts Service exists to provide a balanced and accessible programme of arts and cultural experience in a way that inspires its citizens and visitors to benefit from artistic engagement."

To achieve these values, 8 policy statements were created to provide Lisburn City Council with a strategic focus for the promotion and advancement of the arts both at and through Island Arts Centre, all of which have equal priority. Please see Arts Service Objectives for these.

To achieve these values, 4 themes have been created with a range of AIMS and OBJECTIVES to drive the strategy forward over the next 3 years.
