Front of house volunteer

As the public face of Island Arts Centre, the primary role of the Front of House Volunteer is to take care of the audience. As Island Arts Centre's "Meeter's and Greeter's" they provide that extra "special touch" for special events, performances and other occasions, which are part of everyday life at Island Arts Centre.

Usher Volunteer

Usher Volunteers greet, direct and seat patrons as smoothly as possible, monitor theatre entrances, assist patrons with special requirements, prepare and issue event programmes, count ticket stubs as well as assist in emergency situations. In addition, Usher Volunteers also assist staff at special community events or projects such as the Mayor's Carnival Parade.

Information Volunteer

The Arts Information Desk is an important hub of Island Arts Centre and focal point during events. Information Volunteers therefore require a working knowledge of all the events at Island Arts Centre as they act as 'Meeters & Greeters', Tour Guides & and Gallery Docents. For some events, Information Volunteers are stationed throughout the Lagan Valley facility to provide hospitality and general directions.
