An evening of romantic, evocative and atmospheric music from this celebrated duo. This uplifting collection of music features Irish Airs, haunting Celtic melodies, lively jigs and reels, as well as classical gems and virtuoso pieces that date from past centuries right up to the present day.

Austrian Karin Leitner is a world renowned flautist. She is soloist with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Vienna Mozart Orchestra, and Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra amongst others; and Principal Flute and Piccolo in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Symphony Orchestra.


Cormac de Barra, who plays with Clannad, Moya Brennan, Enya and Hazel O’Connor, is one of Ireland’s finest harpists. He studied concert harp in the USA with Leone Paulson, a Julliard graduate and student of the world famous harpist, Carlos Salzedo.

Does ISLAND Civic Centre have parking?

ISLAND Civic Centre offers complimentary parking, available on-site for up to 300 vehicles. 

What facilities are there on site at ISLAND Civic Centre?

Lagan Valley Island boasts the magnificent Island Hall, Studio Theatre, choice of meeting and conference facilities, wedding ceremonies and receptions, the Island Arts Centre and Lighters Restaurant. The building is fully accessible including loop systems, Braille signage, disabled parking and a disabled access lift. 

What time does ISLAND Civic Centre open to?

ISLAND Civic Centre is open Monday – Friday 9.30am – 10pm and Saturdays 9.30am – 5pm, the centre is closed on Sundays except for special events. 

I want to have dinner does ISLAND Civic Centre have a restaurant?  What time does the ISLAND Restaurant open to?  Is there a sample menu or website I can visit, or a contact telephone number?

Located in the Lagan Valley Island complex and overlooking the River Lagan, the stylish and versatile Lighters Restaurant offers mouth-watering meals throughout the day. Opening hours are Monday – Friday: 9.00am – 4.00pm (or later for all theatre events) and Saturday: 10.00am – 3.00pm. Where is the nearest bus stop or train station to ISLAND Civic Centre? 

Most convenient Bus Stops to Lagan Valley Island are within 5 mins walking distance at Wallace Park & Market Square.  Translink operate regular NIR Rail services to and from Lisburn City. For an up-to-date timetable and Journey Planner log onto www.translink.co.uk/nir.asp or, alternatively phone Translink Call Centre T: 028 90 66 66 30 (Seven Days - 7am to 8pm).

I have restricted mobility where can I park at ISLAND Civic Centre?  Is there assistance when I get inside the Civic Centre?

There are 15 disabled bays located throughout the Council's car parks: 9 bays at the front of the building, 2 bays in the restaurant car park and 4 bays at the Arts Centre car park.
